A fine cello bow made by a member of the Knopf family, most likely Christian Wilhelm around 1830. It's a beautifully made bow made from a fine pernambuco with mounts in horn and ivory. The frog has been made without a metal underslide which was common on bows made before 1840 and in our opinion adds to the warmth and richness of the tone this bow produces.
It draws a wonderfully rich, warm steady tone. Incredibly comfortable to use and can cope well with faster passages. This bow would be more than suitable for an advancing student or professional.
